ABOUT THE BOOK

Utopia or dystopia?
The outcome is still ours to influence.

AI is coming for our jobs. Climate tipping points are drawing closer. Millions still go hungry, and cancer continues to take the people we love. It is easy to imagine a future defined by everything we stand to lose.

But what if the technologies unsettling our lives could also help us build something better?

Could AI accelerate cancer breakthroughs? Could we produce abundant food and clean energy? And could automation give us greater freedom—if we rethink how we share its rewards?

In The World in 2029, AI expert Lars Rinnan draws on decades of experience and conversations with the entrepreneurs and researchers shaping tomorrow to explore what comes next.

Utopia or dystopia? The outcome is still ours to influence.

A boldly optimistic look at the near future—and the choices that could make it worth looking forward to.
